Is a Belgian Malinois a good fit for a Delhi home?
Large dogs need space, and Delhi's independent houses, floors with a terrace and homes near big parks suit them best. In flats, plan for stairs, lifts and daily walks in the cool hours.
A Malinois is a poor choice for most flats, because it needs a great deal of space, work and exercise every day. Check your society's rules on dogs and lifts in Delhi before you decide.
Belgian Malinois and Delhi's weather
Delhi summers regularly cross 40°C, winters bring cold mornings and fog, and the monsoon is humid. Air quality can turn poor in late autumn and winter, so plan indoor play on bad air days and ask your vet when to limit outdoor exercise.
A Malinois's short coat copes with Delhi better than heavy coats, but its extreme energy needs careful timing: train and exercise in the early morning or late evening and keep it cool indoors in the afternoon.
The Belgian Malinois copes better with heat than heavily coated breeds, but still needs shade, water, a cool room at the hottest hours and walks in the cool hours.

Registration and society rules in Delhi
In Delhi, Section 399 of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act requires pet dogs to be registered with the municipal corporation, and registration is generally linked to a vaccination certificate. Registration is done through the MCD's online system. Rules, forms and fees can change, so check the MCD's current requirements and your RWA or society's pet policy before the puppy comes home.
Rules about powerful or large guardian breeds can differ by city, municipality and housing society, and can change over time. Some societies restrict certain breeds in lifts or common areas, and some areas may ask for registration or a muzzle in public. Check the current rules for your area and your society before you choose, and ask us if you are unsure. A Belgian Malinois is a decision for a committed owner who can train and safely control a strong dog.
Belgian Malinois puppy price in Delhi
The price of a Belgian Malinois puppy depends on the puppy's age, lineage and records, health checks and current availability, and it can change from one litter to the next. We do not quote a price without knowing what is available, so message us your area in Delhi and we will tell you what we have, what is included and what records exist. You can meet the puppy by appointment before you decide.
Is a Belgian Malinois right for you?
A Belgian Malinois may suit you if you are experienced, very active, can give hours of exercise and training a day and want a working partner.
You may want a different breed if you are a first-time owner, live in a small flat, have limited time, or want a relaxed family pet.
