Is a Chow Chow a good fit for a Ghaziabad home?
Medium dogs work in Ghaziabad homes with access to a park or open space. Check your society's rules and the Municipal Corporation's licence conditions first.
A Chow Chow can live in a flat because it is calm and needs moderate exercise, but it must have an AC in summer. Check your society's rules on dogs and lifts in Ghaziabad before you decide.
Chow Chow and Ghaziabad's weather
Ghaziabad has hot summers, humid monsoons and cold, foggy winters, and air quality is often poor in late autumn and winter. Keep exercise to the cool hours, and use indoor play on bad air days.
The Chow Chow is one of the breeds that find Delhi's summer hardest. Its heavy coat and sturdy build make overheating a serious risk, so it should live in an air-conditioned or well-cooled room in summer and walk only at the coolest times.
The Chow Chow's thick coat is the main concern: an AC or cooler in summer, walks only in the cool hours, plenty of water and never shaving the coat.

Registration and society rules in Ghaziabad
In Ghaziabad, the Municipal Corporation requires pet dogs to be licensed and has issued rules on owners' responsibilities. In October 2022 it also announced a ban on keeping some powerful breeds, including the Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino. Rules can be revised, so check the corporation's current position and your society's pet policy before you choose a breed.
Chow Chow puppy price in Ghaziabad
The price of a Chow Chow puppy depends on the puppy's age, lineage and records, coat type and colour, health checks and current availability, and it can change from one litter to the next. We do not quote a price without knowing what is available, so message us your area in Ghaziabad and we will tell you what we have, what is included and what records exist. You can meet the puppy by appointment before you decide.
Is a Chow Chow right for you?
A Chow Chow may suit you if you have experience with strong-willed dogs, can keep the home cool in summer and prefer a calm, dignified companion.
You may want a different breed if you want a sociable dog that loves everyone, have young children, or cannot air-condition a room in summer.
