Is a Shih Tzu a good fit for a Ghaziabad home?
Small dogs fit well in Ghaziabad's apartments. Short walks inside the society and in nearby parks are usually enough, apart from the hottest hours.
A Shih Tzu is one of the best breeds for a flat, because it needs little space and moderate exercise, but it must be kept cool in summer. Check your society's rules on dogs and lifts in Ghaziabad before you decide.
Shih Tzu and Ghaziabad's weather
Ghaziabad has hot summers, humid monsoons and cold, foggy winters, and air quality is often poor in late autumn and winter. Keep exercise to the cool hours, and use indoor play on bad air days.
The Shih Tzu's short, flat face means it overheats more easily than a long-nosed dog, so Delhi summers need care. Many owners keep the coat in a short "puppy clip" in summer for comfort and easier grooming.
Because the Shih Tzu has a short, flat face, heat is a serious risk: an AC or strong cooler in summer, short walks in the cool hours and a harness instead of a collar.

Registration and society rules in Ghaziabad
In Ghaziabad, the Municipal Corporation requires pet dogs to be licensed and has issued rules on owners' responsibilities. In October 2022 it also announced a ban on keeping some powerful breeds, including the Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino. Rules can be revised, so check the corporation's current position and your society's pet policy before you choose a breed.
Shih Tzu puppy price in Ghaziabad
The price of a Shih Tzu puppy depends on the puppy's age, lineage and records, coat colour, health checks and current availability, and it can change from one litter to the next. We do not quote a price without knowing what is available, so message us your area in Ghaziabad and we will tell you what we have, what is included and what records exist. You can meet the puppy by appointment before you decide.
Is a Shih Tzu right for you?
A Shih Tzu may suit you if you want an affectionate lap dog, can brush daily or pay for regular grooming, and can keep a short-faced dog cool in summer.
You may want a different breed if you want a low-maintenance coat, an athletic running partner, or a dog that can handle heat without an AC or cooler.
