Is a Shih Tzu a good fit for a Gurgaon home?
Small dogs suit Gurgaon's gated societies well. Most apartments have lifts, community gardens and walking areas, and a small dog is easy to manage in all of them.
A Shih Tzu is one of the best breeds for a flat, because it needs little space and moderate exercise, but it must be kept cool in summer. Check your society's rules on dogs and lifts in Gurgaon before you decide.
Shih Tzu and Gurgaon's weather
Gurgaon shares Delhi's very hot summers and cold winter mornings, and dust and construction can make air quality poor at times. Many apartments here have AC, which helps heat-sensitive dogs, but plan walks for the early morning or late evening.
The Shih Tzu's short, flat face means it overheats more easily than a long-nosed dog, so Delhi summers need care. Many owners keep the coat in a short "puppy clip" in summer for comfort and easier grooming.
Because the Shih Tzu has a short, flat face, heat is a serious risk: an AC or strong cooler in summer, short walks in the cool hours and a harness instead of a collar.

Registration and society rules in Gurgaon

Shih Tzu puppy price in Gurgaon
The price of a Shih Tzu puppy depends on the puppy's age, lineage and records, coat colour, health checks and current availability, and it can change from one litter to the next. We do not quote a price without knowing what is available, so message us your area in Gurgaon and we will tell you what we have, what is included and what records exist. You can meet the puppy by appointment before you decide.
Is a Shih Tzu right for you?
A Shih Tzu may suit you if you want an affectionate lap dog, can brush daily or pay for regular grooming, and can keep a short-faced dog cool in summer.
You may want a different breed if you want a low-maintenance coat, an athletic running partner, or a dog that can handle heat without an AC or cooler.
